Farmhouse Cafe Wendell

First visit here and had a vegan breakfast wrap. You order everything at the counter and self serve. Utensils, napkins etc are available up front. When done you clean your plates inside similar to Panera. Food was very fresh and perfectly paired. The vegan wrap was delicious! My partner got the eggs Benedict. They look led deconstructed but portions were a very good size. Loved the flowers outside the entrance! The building itself is unique airy and open. Great outdoor seating options as well as indoor. Menu is a bit limited to sandwiches, wraps mostly but healthy which is hard to find. Can’t wait to go back and try more items. Would return and recommend.

I tried the Farmhouse Cafe after driving past it for years. I had the Italian Scramble, a chocolate chip cookie, and a funky monkey smoothie. The food was made to order, hot and delicious. The smoothie was rich and flavorful, and the cookie, although I didn't need it, was delicious also. The restaurant was clean and quiet with only a few other patrons. I will definitely be back to try their lunch menu. I saw a few items I think I would really enjoy.

I want to get my complaint about the Farmhouse Cafe out of the way right up front. You have to stand in line to order your food, set your own table, pick up the food when it is ready and clear your own table. This is not my idea of "Good Eats." BUT - the diverse menu and really good food keeps me coming back. The multiple outside dining options are also a big plus - especially when the weather cooperates. The week-end Brunch is a true delight. My favorite is the Three Little Pigs Grits Bowl (13). The generous portion of Stone Ground Cheesy Grits is smothered with Pulled Pork, Country Ham, Bacon, Pub Sauce and a Scrambled Egg. The dish is as filling as it is delicious. A definite winner. We also enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito (8). The flavorful Flour Tortilla Wrap is crammed full of Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Tomatoes, Cheese and Arugula. Another satisfying winner. The Roast Beef Smørrebrød (11) is a superstar. This unique combination of tender, thinly sliced Roast Beef, Pesto, Smoked Gouda, Caramelized Onions, Roasted Tomatoes and Balsamic Glaze was piled high - very high - on a thick slice of Nordic Farmer's Bread. It is hard to describe all the flavors, but this open faced sandwich is truly outstanding. The Smørrebrød also comes in a Salmon version for the same price. We were not so impressed with the Sweet Potato Quinoa Stir Fry (14). This dish combines Red Peppers, Arugula, Asparagus, Carrots, Green Tomato Relish and Thai Chili Sauce. I am always searching for new and innovative cuisine, and I applaud Chef Cowden for his many contributions to dining adventures; but I simply did not like this Stir Fry. The texture was off and the flavors did not work for me. For an ultimate comfort sandwich, I recommend the Cuban (10 with one side). The toasted Cuban-style Hoagy Roll is stuffed with savory tender Pulled Pork, Thin-sliced Ham, gooey melty Swiss Cheese, Dill Pickle slice and a slightly sweet Mustard Sauce. The Tomato Cucumber Side was fresh, crisp, nicely chilled and seasoned with a zesty Vinaigrette Dressing.

The Farmhouse Cafe in Wendell, NC, is a true gem! The venue has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for any gathering. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with care—every bite feels like a treat. On top of that, the professionalism of the staff is outstanding. They are welcoming, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Highly recommend for a delicious meal or a beautifully hosted event!

My Wife, our dog Gizmo and I had brunch. It was very good. I had the Eye opener: two eggs scrambled with cheese, english muffin, bacon and country ham (country ham was an add on). We really enjoyed the outdoor seating over looking the pool and lake and gentle breeze. Dog Friendly!

My wife and I was coming back from a Facebook Market adventure not far away in Wilson. We wanted to try something new on a Sunday morning.. at first I ordered the kitchen sink bagel sandwich and then I saw two guys with the sausage and gravy with scrambled eggs so I switched my order to that and Jess was wonderful she changed my order with no problem my wife really enjoyed her avocado toast and I must say I've never seen an avocado toast dressed up that way ... Everything was wonderful there are other items we will be trying again thank you again for your customer service and we will be back.

I just had the best second meal there and the food is outstanding. French toast with lemon curd and some berry stuff, a traditional breakfast of two eggs, scrambled with bacon and fruits. I didn't have the included toast because I had the french toast. Then the yogurt parfait is absolutely perfect in my opinion. I still haven't used the bathrooms but I imagine they are extremely clean. This restaurant is super high ceilings with an extremely spacious lay out. Indoor seating and outdoor seating and the outdoor is a view of the pool and the lake! So cool. I'm a regular now! The manager, Jess, was very friendly and came out to discuss my exquisite tip to the great associates they have working there. She was very feminine, and so is the other manager on duty. The only difference with other restaurants is, uou need to get used to ordering your food and then going to sit down and then coming back up for your food. Other than ordering the food, they don't really interact with you a whole lot, but it's absolutely awesome and delicious and I will be here many, many times, as I only live a few minutes away, and the pricing is very competitive. This is a five star restaurant all the way. Thank you!
